The Deluxe Edition of The Book of Colt Firearms -- 3rd Edition features the same book as the Standard Edition with a tan cover with gold foil, gold gilded edges, an attached gold page marker, a deluxe tan slipcase, and a signature plate with signatures from Colt Historian Kathleen Holt, Colt Archivist Beverly Haynes, Author R.L. Wilson, and Publisher S.P. Fjestad. Only 150 of these deluxe books are available. Limited quantities!

The Book of Colt Firearms, in this fresh, new, Third Edition, improves significantly on the work universally accepted as the finest firearms book ever published.

This carefully scoped, no expense-spared landmark work is a necessary volume for the collector, the researcher, the historian, the curator, the shooter or hunter, the arms dealer, or the interested layman. In one 648-page volume is the fascinating story of the gunmakers and engravers, promoters and industrialists who made and sold the products that have met the needs of the armed forces and peace officers, miners and explorers, cowboys and ranchers, and the good, the bad, and the ugly from the old West - as well as hunters and target shooters, Wild West show performers, and the shooters of the silver screen and TV.

Author R.L. Wilson has delivered to Blue Book Publications, Inc. a completely redone first section, with several superb new color illustrations, a fresh and detailed foreword, and updated acknowledgments. New illustrations have also been added within the body of this work, improving on the original volume and its Second Edition (1993). The engraving section has been expanded to a total of 16 pages. The bibliography has also been updated, as has the historical chronology. Over 50% more color appears in this new edition than in the classic 1971 First Edition - the book that has sold for as much as $3,000 amongst dedicated collectors.

This Third Edition of the Book of Colt Firearms is a complete Colt library in a single volume. In over 1,250,000 words, over 1,250 black & white and 75 color photographs, this mammoth work tells the Colt story from 1832 through the present: a comprehensive study of Colonel Colt and his company, yet tailored for readability, with human interest for the layman.

All Colt revolvers, pistols, longarms, automatic weapons, and countless items of memorabilia are described and reviewed in prodigious detail, in an authoritative text of unsurpassed scope.

This lavish and unprecedented work presents thousands of facts, drawn from the author's years of specialized research, even featuring serial number sequences by year for all percussion and cartridge hand and longarms (except certain periods of some military production). Standard production arms, variations, experimentals, prototypes, and a variety of engraved guns are explored in minute detail. Markings, calibers, barrel lengths, finishes, and a panorama of other features are thoroughly presented in an easily used reference format.

The Colt company's factory records are but one of the many sources for this text. Colt firearms in major museums were researched and recorded. Numerous private collections were thoroughly studied. Catalogs, correspondence, ledgers, and patents from over 175 years were examined.

For this Third Edition, accomplished automotive and firearms photographer Dennis Adler has created a selection of eloquent and beautiful photographs celebrating some of the most spectacular of Colt firearms - many from the distinguished collection of Dr. Joseph A. Murphy, whose arms were the basis for Fine Colts, designed as the companion volume to R.L. Wilson's, The Colt Engraving Book, volumes I and II.

Good power strip for under-desk mount.
Size: 6FT, Style: 1 Pack
Affordable power strip. 12 plugs. Good build quality. It says "Surge Protector" in the product description, but without actually taking it apart, I don't actually think there's a surge protector or anything built in - there's no breaker/reset button, which is usually the giveaway for that. Also, no USB charge ports or any extras like that. The plugs aren't only spaced the normal width apart - you won't get many wall-wart style power supplies connected with this. That should be obvious from the product images but I figured I'd mention it. You can get little 8-12" pigtail M/F power cables for cheap that address that problem, though. Easy to attach to underside of desk with included brackets. They're through-hole, not that weird slot/key thing, which is a plus, IMHO. (The last power strip had used those, and after it fell off a few times, I jut gave up and it lived on the floor. This won't do that.) The brackets are visible in the produce images, but come screwed on in reverse - you have to unscrew and flip them before you have the tabs to attach things. I assume that's what "rotating" means in the product description. It makes sense - the product package can be a couple inches shorter and most people presumably don't use the clips anyway. I just think it's great they're there if you need them. Getting all the cords up off the floor makes it a lot easier to sweep or vacuum under the desk, and a lot hard for cats to disturb things. Satisfied customer here!

Solid, well-made product. I like that you can rotate-to-mount for different situations.
Size: 6FT, Style: 1 Pack
Heavy-duty chord, heavy-duty sockets, heavy-duty metal frame. Works well, and I like the lighted on/off switch. Being able to rotate and mount however needed makes it versatile. As clearly illustrated in the product description, the sockets are *really* close to each other, but that perfectly met my needs - but look for alternatives if you plan to plug in wall-warts and other space-consuming devices.

Before Mounting, Re-look at the photos for bracket position to save frustration!
Size: 3FT, Style: 1 Pack
Good, solid quality feel, fit and finish... BUT, as other comments indicate, the brackets can be confusing. They come positioned inward for compact fit in the box. Remove the mounting screw from the end, then SLIDE the bracket off, position the L-shape away from the strip for mounting and re-insert the power strip. Others mentioned lack of a tool for bracket removal but none is needed, they simply slide off (they don't rotate while seated). I (and others, per the comments) envisioned it mounted with brackets turned inward (as they came in the box) but doing that puts a screw head in the way of fully seating the unit into the bracket with misaligned mounting screw holes. Came back to this ad to look at the pictures and VIOLA -- set the brackets outward and screw holes align for perfect fit! Quite honestly, made me feel like a chimpanzee given a simple puzzle to solve, and I FAILED the test until looking at the pictures! Reading the reviews made me feel a little better, seeing I'm not the only one!! All that said, this power strip provides great bang for the buck. I'm using it to power my desktop computer with a three-monitor display and external storage drives.

Extraordinarily Useful
Size: 10FT, Style: 1 Pack
We use this to plug in all of our chargers (an off brand mini chain saw, off brand mini blower, and way to many (but we love and use them) Ryobi products). The are on a shelf, easy to get to, no cords tangled, no plugging and unplugging. Great decision because this is a great product.

Better for entertainment center
Size: 6FT, Style: 1 Pack
Have it mounted under my workshop desk the mount ability is simple and works good also have my phone plugged in and the ports work good, the length of the cable is good if you want it somewhat far from the outlet only thing is I wish with the design they spaced out the outlets since ryobi’s charging outlets are bricks but other than that zero complaints
