"Hard to believe it has been 18 years since this set was first issued, but that's what the calendar says. Paul and Chris had been playing together for a while before this. I seem to recall rehearsals outdoors in Hartford beneath stretches of raised highway under construction. But that may have been Chris and Pete Nolan, back when Pete played guitar. Who can remember exactly? It's been a long time. But I do remember we put this set together because it seemed essential to document how amazing the communication was between these two musicians, from different generations, but tuned into the same insane frequency. When we told Paul we wanted to do it on the Ecstatic Yod label, with art by Gary Panter, and actual liner notes, he thought it wasn't the best idea he'd ever heard, but what the hell. The actual hope of the label was to raise the profile of this incredibly talented but ruinously humble saxophonist, so that he'd be thought of in the same way as the day's other great players. And hey - it sorta worked. The CD got solid reviews, and more people heard it. But what most listeners took away from it was how intensely telepathic the music is. It's all lightning and smoke. These guys were deep inside each other's heads, and that made for a wonderful listening experience. In a way it's funny to hear how 'jazzy' Chris's playing is. He's gone so far beyond known-moves over the last years, you almost suspect he must be holding back. But he's not. He's throwing down as hard as he can to meet the ragged flowing genius of Flaherty's horn at every turn. He just had different chops back then. And the music is still amazing. The Hated Music is one of the best extended drum/sax forays you'll ever hear. If we could have done it on vinyl back then, we would have, but no one was buying the stuff much right then. Jerks. That has changed a bit now. For the good. And we got the great Gary Panter to do new cover, since the old one was CD sized and weird. But everything else is the same. Beautiful rug but smelly when you first unpack it.

Beautiful quality. Deep thick fur. The "patches" are noting more than where 4 or 5 inch splits, one at each end were stitched back together. I wouldn't have even called them patches. They are the same stitching as used to join the two pelts in the middle. The color is a very clean white. Being natural pelt, I was really expecting something a little more blond. I've bought New Zealand sheepskin several times before and I don't doubt this is Aussie or Kiwi sheepskin but I didn't notice this is processed in China before I bought it. Still, the only complaint I had was a strange chemical smell when I unwrapped it. It didn't smell like the tanning chemicals from previous pelts. But it's gone away after 3 weeks so I guess all's good.

Verified Real Sheepskin, High Quality, Looks Great

I was initially a little skeptical of the “real sheepskin” claim, so I really appreciated how much effort the seller put into transparency and verification.
This console cover comes with a detailed information sheet explaining how to identify real vs faux sheepskin using a burn test, and it also includes samples of both genuine and fake sheepskin so you can see the difference for yourself. That alone gave me much more confidence than most listings.
To verify the actual product, I carefully tested a very small, hidden area on the backside of the console cover itself. While the hair did briefly ignite (which initially gave me pause), everything else aligned with real sheepskin:
The smell was unmistakably burnt hair, not chemicals or plastic
The fibers did not melt like synthetic material
The burned area turned into soft, powdery ash, not hard or plastic like beads
Comparing my results to the included info sheet and photos, it clearly behaved like genuine sheepskin. Based on the smell, texture, and burn behavior, I’m fully convinced this is real.
The cover itself is very soft and well made. The black color is a true black (not faded or grayish), and it adds a nice upgrade to the interior. My daughter mainly wanted it for the look and the softness, and she’s been very happy with it.
It fits well on a standard center console and has stayed in place during regular driving. This should work nicely for most SUVs, sedans, and crossover vehicles that have a center console between the seats. This was for a 2019 Acura RDX.
Overall, this is a quality product, and the seller’s claims about authenticity were accurate. I really respect that they give customers the tools to verify it themselves.

The fluffer puffer console saved my clothes and is super cute in my car!

So soft and fluffy! The leather on my center console is scratched and ugly looking now and always causes tears in my knit sweaters! I was so happy I came across this, because I never even thought there was an option to save me (other than not leaning on my side arm when driving, which is so second nature I can’t help but!)…

Not for Honda Civics
I just want to start with saying that this is beautiful and very high quality. I really wasn’t expecting much with the price point being so low. But the cover is very soft and cozy. It is too big for my 2018 honda civic center console, I really wish it fit because I love this thing! I’ve just had it next to me while I sit on the couch and have been petting it the last couple hours. I’ll find somewhere else to put it because it’s that soft and pretty. If this will fit your car than I 100% recommend it!
