"Allégeance Volatile" and "Esquive" each tackle the same issue in their own way. Overcoming time: whether it be successive, additional, enumerative, or repetitive. However, there is nothing here about the ensuing nature of so-called "repetitive" music. These are types of high-end music. And it is more about insistence, the obstinacy of an individual who keeps knocking on a door that will never open. The rustic drumming of "Allégeance", talkative, acidulous, colorful, and over-articulated, with almost clownish desinences, eventually dies out in this very respite. The iterative and puffy shimmering of "Esquive" with it's dull, thin and precise sounds, shifts and is engulfed into another sonic world - which appears as a gaping and collapsed response to this prime insistency. This is, indeed, a "volatile allegiance" and "avoidance" from the sonic to the musical elements: the musical phenomenon anticipated and pursued as the non-sound of sound - or, in other words, the void of sound. This seems to be the lesson of the concrete attitude in music. Such is the kind of questioning that stirs the composer. He returns with another title: "Contrée", which, once again, speaks of a counter-event. Here, the movement is broader, more generous, more confident. Time spreads and stretches out. What seems to be a landscape of entanglements, trajectories, influx, masses, and points emerges. "Something" rises and presents itself out of the sounds - these escaping beings, these "relatively short combustion flames" (Schaeffer). The piece consists of five consecutive and uninterrupted parts: "Entrée" and "Stance I" - "Véhémence de L'air" and "Stance II" - "Grande Allure". It is the central section of an electroacoustic triptych with Sables (2011) as the first and Nil (2017) as the last. "Contrée" is dedicated to Philippe Mion, whose friendly ears have been entrusted with my music for so many years. Translations by Valérie Vivancos. The closest I've been to an actual African journey.

I've always wanted to trek to the high seas and down the Ivory Coast, making my way to South Africa. Alas, I have yet to have the chance. But with Brooklyn Biltong, I felt like I was part of that great adventure.
From the moment the package arrived in the mail, I was excited to dive in. The three different colors of the packages was really enticing. Which flavor first - red, yellow, or blue!?
I went with the original flavor first (red) to get a real sense of the product. As I opened up the package I was overwhelmed with the smells of air dried goodness, with a hint of coriander. With just enough bite, I went into paleo heaven. As a gym and health nut, this was the perfect treat after I blasted off reps of 350lbs. It gave me the energy I needed to really make my way through the day before hitting the club later than night with my bros.
But how can we forget about the other flavors? Jo'burg steakhouse? O.M.G. I legit thought I was hanging with the late great Charlie Palmer nibbling down on some garlicy cow goodness. The Peri Peri BROUGHT. DA. HEAT. I felt like I was on trial with all that SPICE.
This is the real deal. You don't need to go to Brooklyn to wear skinny jeans and you don't need to hop on a plane to South Africa to get the whole experience.
Worth. Every. Bit. Of. My. Hard. Earned. Cash.

So Delicious… but expensive!

Wow this stuff is delicious! I was prepared to be underwhelmed and I was so pleasantly surprised because it was so good. My favorite is the Peri Peri flavor, but they are all good. The price is so expensive, but since I’m restricting sugar right now, it was a thoughtful healthy splurge. Highly recommend for quality, flavor, and texture. But I might have to start a beef jerky savings fund to be able to afford to order more.

I am so glad this is availbe in the states now.
I first had Mr's Ball's in Southern Africa in 2006 while on Safari in Namibia and Botswana.
It was so good I packed quite a few bottles to take home. It goes great with meat, cheese, on sandwiches, just a fantastic flavor. I'm now spoiled and can NOT buy any of the "usual" chutney's available to us in the States. So I keep well stocked now thanks to Amazon.

There so much flavor without it oozing all over the place.
I am so happy I found this chutney. It is perfect consistency to spread on bread to make our chutney sandwiches. The double bottle buy is the way to go. Always have one back up ready to go.
