Autumn in Moling Lotus Lotus Plant Description

Autumn in Moling Lotus is SIMPLY STUNNING!
 (Qiuse Lotus)
We have noticed photos of this lotus flower on the internet that have an over saturation of color, making it much brighter than it actually is. This delightful, early bloomer needs no enhancement as Autumn in Moling (Qiuse Lotus) is a lovely, medium sized, yellow, double flowering lotus plant and an excellent  bloomer that blooms early in the season. The delicate shade of yellow is heightened by the ruffled, double petals that adorn this enchanting lotus flower. This lotus plant is very popular and a favorite of many around the globe!

Autumn in Moling Lotus Planting Instructions

When planting your lotus, use a wide (16 inches or wider), no holes container using  loam soil. Dig a shallow trench in the top of the soil and carefully place your lotus tuber in the trench, gently pull soil over the tuber making sure to leave the growth tips exposed. Be careful not to damage the growth tips. Carefully add a few inches of water over the top of the soil and place your lotus container where it will receive at least eight (8) hours of direct sunlight. In a week or two you will have coin leaves on the surface of the water.

Lotus Fertilizing Instructions

Once you have aerial leaves growing out of the water you may fertilize your lotus plant twice a month, from June until September. Lotus plants are very heavy feeders and should be fertilized for vigorous growth and best bloom. An easy way to remember to fertilize your lotus plants is to mark your calendar to add 3-4 fertilizer tabs on the 1st and 15th of each month during the growing season, (June through September).

What Is Loam Soil?

Loam soil is a good mixture of Topsoil and Sand

If you are lucky enough to have good topsoil in your backyard, by all means, use your topsoil. All you will have to do is add fertilizer. If you are not so lucky--and your backyard is sand or heavy red or yellow clay, you can mix up a batch of loam soil.

You can create your own loam soil by mixing these two ingredients together

  • 2/3  Inorganic Topsoil (Little or no organic material added)
  • 1/3  Pool Filter Sand

Mix together thoroughly with a little water. Your soil should clump when squeezed. If your soil is mixed properly, it will not muddy your pond water.

You can purchase inexpensive bags of inexpensive / poor Topsoil at Lowes or Home-Depot. Good soil clumps together as a ball in your hand with only a little moisture.

Don't buy brands like Scott's or Miracle-Gro, as they will contain too much organic matter that can foul your water. Buy an unbranded bag of topsoil instead.

You can purchase Pool Filter Sand at any store that sells pool supplies.

Loam soil is well suited for all aquatic plants (except oxygenators). Oxygenators rarely need to be planted, just anchored in the substrate or in a container filled with sand or 1/8  inch pea gravel.

Sand holds little water but does allow for aeration and drainage.

Some DO's and DON'TS regarding Aquatic Planting Soil

DO NOT use potting soils ( as they are too light and will float right out of the pot). Potting Soil has organic material that will rot and foul your water!

DO NOT add too much composted material (as it is too rich in organic matter and it will ferment underwater and destroy the ecology of your pond).

DO NOT use 100% calcined clay as there is no nutritional value in calcined clay.

DO NOT add rocks, stones or pebbles to the top of your planting container as this will inhibit the growth of your plants. Plants do not grow in rocks and stones in nature!

DO NOT purchase API Aquatic Planting Media or Microbe-lift Aquatic Planting Media as these products are NOT suitable for waterlilies, lotus or most other pond plants. They are suitable for submerged grasses ONLY!

Bog Plants (Wetland Plants) prefer poor, acidic soil.

The texture of loam soil will retain nutrients and water as well as bind to the nutrients in your fertilizer, where they can deliver these nutrients to your plants. The Pool Filter Sand will allow some drainage and aeration Once you have created loam soil for your pond plants, you are ready to plant waterlilies, lotus and marginal plants in your water garden or pond.

Surprisingly Effective and Convenient!
Color: Bag Petrol
I wasn’t sure what to expect with the purse clean ball, but it has turned out to be a great little gadget! It’s simple to use—just toss it into your purse, and it quietly works to pick up crumbs, lint, and small debris. The sticky interior does an excellent job of collecting all the random dirt that accumulates, and it’s easy to clean—just rinse it under water, let it dry, and it’s good as new. I also love that it’s compact and doesn’t take up much space in my bag. If you want an easy way to keep your purse tidy without constantly emptying and shaking it out, this is a fun and effective solution. Highly recommend it for anyone who likes to keep their bags neat and clean!

Highly recommend
Color: Black
I love these so much. They make the perfect stocking stuffer but as a chronically messy person, I love throwing them in my purse or backpack. They pick up so much and are really easy to wash off.

Clean Your Purse
Color: Pink
This ball is pretty cool. It acts like a lint roller inside your purse getting all the dirt, crumbs, & lint that accumulates at the bottom. When it's looking nasty, you can rinse it off in the sink & it's good to go back in your purse. It's one of my best Amazon purchases and I will probably buy again if/when the sticky wears off or having a spare on hand.

Had this in a back pack for a year and wow. The dirt collected is kinda shocking. I will buy more of these for different bags!
